Revolution Youth

Thank you checking out Revolution Youth. And we hope we can help you with any questions you or your guardian might have about who we are. Our prayer is that you would experience Jesus who loves young people. The aim for Revolution Youth is to reach this generation, helping young people to develop Christ-like relationships and encouraging them to live for Christ and serve others as they face the realities of life.
Gateway Church is one church, with two campus locations (Panet and South / Osborne). Most of the youth activities are currently held at the 851 Panet campus. We hope you will contact us and get to know some of our incredible leaders.
We have 3 divisions to Revolution Youth:
Junior High Ministry, Senior High Ministry, and South Youth Ministry.
Feel free to email us at gatewayyouth@hotmail.com for more info.
Revolution Goals!

Every Generation - Although we have separate Jr. and Sr. High Ministries, we really believe in inter generational connections. Church is family. So we make sure we do things facilitate this philosophy.
Combined Jr. and Sr. Youth Events on Friday Night.
Combined youth nights are usually held periodically throughout the year. These activity nights may be in the church building, or an otherwise specified location. These activities are a great opportunity for youth to bring their friends who do not necessarily go to a church and they make it easy for newcomers to feel welcome and accepted.
During the summer months all our events are combined.
Prime Time O.C.
Once a month, we have a worship night called "Prime Time O.C." This allows all our cell groups to "cel-ebrate" together. During this time we have an interactive service where we encourage youth to "plug in' to God" by participating and interacting and responding to the word of God. We want the Holy Spirit to have freedom and use the spiritual gifts that he has given.
Retreats and Conferences

Retreats and Conferences - We try to incorporate youth retreats and conferences into our schedules. Traditional events such as Asessippi Ski Retreat, Consumed and Camp Cedarwood each have various emphases such as leadership development, evangelistic outreach and spiritual growth. Check the youth calendar for details and/ or brochures on these retreats or conferences.
S.Y.M. - South Youth Ministry

S.Y.M. - The South Osborne campus offers a Sunday morning
youth class (Fusion - see Jr. High Ministry for details) on Sundays. The class is run by Kevin and Kate Groenheide. There is no cost for the event. The day varies, so check out the youth calendar for the date.
South Youth Ministry Leaders
Kevin and Kate Groenheide
We are so priveledged to have Kate and Kevin ministering to the youth in the South Campus. They are incredible in their passion for seeing young people come to a genuine faith. Kate has helped in the Gateway Youth Ministry for many years but took a break to get married and have a baby. We are so happy to have them both lead the South Youth Ministry at the South Campus.

Sr High Revolution

3 weeks of the month Sr Rev is all about the O.C. O.C. is held in various homes and on different days. Usually around 7:30pm till 10pm on the weekends.
Sr. Rev has 2 events in a month.
The first weekend of the month Sr. Rev have an event to develop relationships (and allow the cells to connect) and give opportunity for students to bring friends. At those activities we share from God's Word and give opportunity for youth to respond. The activity night alternates from Fridays and Saturdays as to avoid conflicts with the O.C. Check the Sr Rev Calendar for details.
On the second Friday of the month, Sr. Revolution combines with the Jr. Revolution for a worship night called Prime Time O.C. Sr. High Revolution has strong emphasis to see young people go deeper in their love for Christ and grow in their spiritual gifts (participate rather than spectate).
Pastor
of Youth Ministries

Norm and Niki Zazulak
Norm and Niki have blessed the Gateway Youth Ministry with their pastoring since 2003. Norm and Niki have been in youth ministry for over 16 years when they moved to Winnipeg from the Yukon to be a part of Gateway Church. They have three sons, Andrew, Nathan and Jordan. Norm and Niki head up a devoted team of youth workers who have a heart for seeing young people in relationship with God. Norm oversees all the youth ministry in Gateway Church at both campuses and is an elder in Gateway Church.
Jr Revolution

On the First and Third Friday of the month we have Jr O.C. and then an Activity. These activity events are to develop relationships and give opportunity for students to reach out to friends. We do many large group activities but every night we share from God's Word and give opportunity for youth to respond. At Jr. Revolution, we spend a couple of hours in cell groups (small groups) and then in activity and best of all – we meet with JESUS! We love to see students meet with Jesus whether it’s for the first time or the hundredth time.
worship night called Prime Time O.C. which starts at 7pm.

O.C. is the Life of Revolution!

The Open Cell (The O.C.)
Open Cell is our priority in Revolution Youth. We believe that bigger doesn't
necessarily mean better. Small discipleship groups (Open Cells) are where students grow in Christ, Community, and the Word. Jr. High O.C. has
sequence. We want to disciple Junior High students to prepare them for
Sr. High.

Patterns
You see, nothing has changed. We still praise God one day for his blessings; then the next day we think we can live off our own strength and for some reason we fail. It's the battle Paul talks about in the New Testament between the Flesh and the Spirit. The part that is the most encouraging is that God is gracious. That's the other pattern. Even when God's chosen people would turn from him, he would send the prophets to warn them. He never wiped them out like he could have, but only had them occupied/exiled. Then he would rescue them or bring them home. Think about it, God was gracious to his people before Jesus came and redeemed us. How much more grace is available now!?! It doesn't mean we can get away with disobedience but He has grace for our mistakes and is always ready to forgive us when we ask.
